Yet another school built by La Parqueterie!
For once, a solid parquet floor known as "parquet industriel" or "lamelle sur chant" was chosen for this public space. Some of the classrooms were also covered with "bois de bout", a parquet that is quite rare these days. Butt-jointing is simply an installation technique in which the parquet is laid in the opposite direction to normal, whereas conventional parquet planks are cut lengthwise and laid horizontally. The end grain, on the other hand, is laid crosswise. This gives parquet flooring exceptional resistance, to the extent that it is also used as exterior wood.
New school by La Parqueterie! Solid "industrial" parquet and rare "end wood" chosen for exceptional aesthetics and resistance.
