The wall-mounted sliding door
As its name suggests, the wall-mounted sliding door is visible, whether open or closed. The rail allows the door to be suspended and slid visibly from the side where the door slides along the wall to create the opening.

The sliding pocket door
Unlike the wall-mounted door, the sliding pocket door slides between two walls when opened. The major advantage is that it makes it possible to gain a section of wall to put a frame, a mirror or a piece of furniture thanks to the absence of clearance.
It is both an aesthetic and practical solution for small spaces. The pocket door is a bit more complex to install than an exposed sliding door or a simple swinging door because it must be provided during masonry or partitions. This type of door is therefore to be preferred in case of new construction or in case of major renovation.
